Piano Instructor
We're looking for a piano instructor for W.I.S.H. (Westside Instructional String & Harp) Program.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction to students of all ages in private lessons and group classes
- Provide assessment of students’ musical progress
- Prepare weekly lesson plans
- Collaborate with parents, administrative staff for scheduling
- Timely correspondence with managing director, school staff, and parents
- Actively participate in faculty meetings
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in music performance or education
- Previous teaching experience
- Ability to communicate instrumental techniques and concepts to students
- Personable, collaborative nature and ability to work with students, families, and administration
- High level of personal responsibility and musicianship
Band Instructor
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate an understanding of and implement music methods, pedagogies, and repertoire appropriate for beginning and intermediate band students and ensembles –
- Provide assessment of students’ musical progress
- Collaborate with parents, administrative staff for scheduling
- Timely correspondence with managing director, school staff, and parents
- Actively participate in faculty meetings
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in music education or applied music, Master’s preferred, demonstrating substantial knowledge of band pedagogy, music history/literature especially as it applies to beginning and intermediate bands, and music theory.
- Strong performing skills and experience as an instrumentalist.
- Three (3) years of successful teaching and conducting experience in a middle school/junior high band program with an emphasis in beginning instrumental instruction and developing fundamental ensemble and musicianship skills.
- Ability to communicate instrumental techniques and concepts to students
- Personable, collaborative nature and ability to work with students, families, and administration
